So I can’t help but keep thinking about the missing moon rocks!\u00a0 You\u00a0 know, the ones President Nixon gave the State of Missouri…Way Back When!?!\u00a0\u00a0 All I can think about is how as a young boy, I waited in line for hours for the opportunity to walk past a couple of rocks that were encased in clear plexiglass cases to avoid any human contamination.\u00a0 What a thrill to see these rocks up close after all the hours of watching the coverage of the moon landings on TV.\u00a0 A Part of the Moon now was right there in front of me!\u00a0 Many years have come and gone.\u00a0 Now I hear that the rocks that were given to the state of missouri are possibly missing?\u00a0 Oh How the times have changed!\u00a0 I keep picturing in my mind, a guy down in some state building going through old dust covered boxes and stumbling across what appears to be an ordinary rock…..wondering what is this doing in here?\u00a0 The guy puts the rock in his pocket and forgets about it.\u00a0 Later, when it is time for a smoke break, he heads out a side door, reaches into his pocket and grabs the forgotten rock.\u00a0 Looks at it and tosses it into the parking lot.\u00a0 What was\u00a0 back in my day a “marvel to behold” is now just a rock tossed away.\u00a0 I am sure this is not the way the rock has turned up missing, but the loss of the feeling of being an astronaut one day myself and gathering my own rocks from the surface of the moon is now gone……..just like that!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
