{"id":2,"date":"2010-07-08T18:15:18","date_gmt":"2010-07-09T01:15:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2017-02-03T09:17:31","modified_gmt":"2017-02-03T15:17:31","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/scottpowellonline.com\/?page_id=2","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_116\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/scottpowellonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/scottandlovelywife.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-116\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-116\" title=\"scottandlovelywife\" src=\"http:\/\/scottpowellonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/scottandlovelywife-300x201.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" srcset=\"http:\/\/scottpowellonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/scottandlovelywife-300x201.jpg 300w, http:\/\/scottpowellonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/scottandlovelywife.jpg 604w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-116\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Once Upon A Time<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I am originally from a (what was back in the day) a small town named Newburgh, Indiana.\u00a0 It is located on the Eastern edge of Evansville.\u00a0 I actually grew up in between the two.\u00a0 My &#8220;neighborhood&#8221; had the ideal location!\u00a0 We were within a mile or two of the Evansville city limits, but without any signs of the city life.\u00a0 My neighbor to the West was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.angelmounds.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Angel Mounds<\/a> State Historic Site.\u00a0 To the South, the wonderful playground of the <a href=\"http:\/\/postcards.evansville.net\/NearEvan\/near1.html\" target=\"_blank\">Ohio River<\/a> and to the East&#8230;nothing but a creek, gravel road and cornfields. (at least that&#8217;s the way I remember it).\u00a0 If you went North on Stacer Road&#8230;. well that is how you reached the outside world!\u00a0 Or so it seemed.\u00a0 Life was good growing up!\u00a0 I think about that old neighborhood a lot.\u00a0 Including All the people that lived within the four streets that made up it, and those that surrounded it.\u00a0\u00a0 You all have given me such great memories!<\/p>\n<p>Other background info:\u00a0 I am a 1981 graduate of <a href=\"http:\/\/castlehs.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Castle High School<\/a>.\u00a0 I hung around the &#8220;hood&#8221; and continued my education at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.evansville.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">University of Evansville<\/a>.\u00a0 In 1985, I was sent on my way with a bachelors degree in Communications: Radio\/TV\/Film.\u00a0 I have a piece of paper to prove it!<\/p>\n<p>Since then, I managed to work part time for two radio stations in Evansville, Indiana.\u00a0 Four years at a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wfmw.net\/emm-bin\/homepage.cgi\" target=\"_blank\">WFMW<\/a> in Madisonville, Kentucky.\u00a0 In 1989, I moved to Missouri for a job at then &#8220;Missouri&#8217;s Farm Voice&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kmzu.com\" target=\"_blank\"> KMZU<\/a> located in Carollton, Missouri.\u00a0 I hung around there until 1995.\u00a0 At that time, I was burned out by the &#8220;radio biz&#8221; and moved onto what can be considered a real job.\u00a0 For the next six years I worked for a grain storage and fertilizer\/chemical distributor.<\/p>\n<p>In 2001 I somehow stumbled into an offer to return to &#8220;The Farm&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kmzu.com\" target=\"_blank\">KMZU<\/a>. \u00a0I was very blessed to have the opportunity to hang around and &#8216;do my thang&#8217; at the farm until April 2013. \u00a0Reasons why I left are not important, but the fact that some of the best times in my &#8216;working years&#8217; were had during this time&#8230;.and that&#8217;s what I care to remember.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for checking up on me!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am originally from a (what was back in the day) a small town named Newburgh, Indiana.\u00a0 It is located on the Eastern edge of Evansville.\u00a0 I actually grew up in between the two.\u00a0 My &#8220;neighborhood&#8221; had the ideal location!\u00a0 &hellip; <a href=\"http:\/\/scottpowellonline.com\/?page_id=2\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":2,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","template":"","meta":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/scottpowellonline.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/2"}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/scottpowellonline.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/scottpowellonline.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/scottpowellonline.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/scottpowellonline.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=2"}],"version-history":[{"count":13,"href":"http:\/\/scottpowellonline.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/2\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":821,"href":"http:\/\/scottpowellonline.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/2\/revisions\/821"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/scottpowellonline.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=2"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
